What we do: We provide education, information, and assistance to women and girls who have unplanned pregnancies. We provide prenatal, child development, and parenting education. We hold a weekly moms support group meeting. We provide maternity clothes, infant clothes, diapers, formula, and additional items for babies and children. We provide referrals for medical, financial, and other assistance as needed. Who we serve: Women and girls in McHenry County and surrounding areas.
Eligibility Requirements: Pregnant and/or recently gave birth, no income verification.

What we do: We are the only rape crisis center serving the McHenry County area. All our services are FREE. We provide 24/7 crisis intervention through the McHenry County Crisis Line. We provide 24/7 medical advocacy at local hospitals as well as 24/7 legal advocacy at McHenry County police departments. Legal advocacy also includes court accompaniment and support, and assistance in obtaining protective orders. We provide counseling services in English and Spanish for ages 3 on up. Counseling services are provided for survivors, significant others, individuals, couples, and families. We also provide professional training.

What we do: We are a medical clinic that provides completely confidential pregnancy testing, limited ultrasounds, specific STD testing and treatment, and options education and resources for women and girls facing unintended pregnancies.

What we do: Help people navigate and overcome the challenges of separation and divorce by providing access to legal information, support networks, and professional resources.

What we do: Pioneer Center delivers services to over 1,500 people in McHenry County each year. We provide day, residential, and case management support services for individuals with developmental disabilities (including vocational preparation and training); community employment services; residential services for adults with mental illness; outpatient therapy for children and adolescents with mental illness; pregnant and parenting teen education and support; runaway and homeless youth services. All our behavioral health child and adolescent services are provided from a Trauma Informed Care approach.
Who we serve: People with developmental disabilities, mental illness, experiencing homelessness, at-risk youth and their families, and others.
Eligibility Requirements: This can vary by program; please contact us to discuss your needs.
Fees/Insurance: Varies based on services. For Behavioral Health Services, all Medicaid payer sources are accepted, and for some private insurance plans, a sliding fee scale is available for BH services. Please contact us.

What we do: Refuge for Women Chicago provides long-term (12 months) restorative residential healing programs for women who have been sexually trafficked and exploited.
Who we serve: Women 18+ who have been sexually exploited or trafficked.
Eligibility Requirements: Women 18+. Must be 10 days drug-free/ sober. If a woman desires to come to Refuge and has children, we will work with Safe Families for child placement during the time they are in the program. We have 7 homes around the country and will work with the applicant for best fit.
Fees/Insurance: No cost to the woman

What we do: Turning Point is the only full-service domestic violence agency in McHenry County. We provide crisis intervention, secure emergency shelter for victims and their children who are fleeing domestic violence, individual and group counseling for adults and children, legal advocacy for victims, trauma-based mental health therapy, partner abuse intervention, violence prevention education programs, a nurturing parenting program, and referrals. Phone and video counseling services are available.
Who we serve: Women, children, and men who have been victims of domestic violence. Through our Partner Abuse Intervention Program, we help perpetrators of abuse.
Eligibility Requirements: McHenry County resident Other Languages Offered: Services are offered in Spanish by bilingual/bicultural staff. All other languages are accommodated through the use of interpreters.
Fees/Insurance: Services for domestic violence victims are free. Sliding fee scale for the perpetrator program, nurturing parenting program, and mental health therapy.
